Outdoor Adventure: Welcome to your Classroom
We believe that time spent in nature is good for the mind, body and spirit.
For our Gappers, nature will become a place for adventure, reflection and realization. We use outdoor adventure as a way to get students out of their comfort zones and into their growth zones in a safe and supportive way.
The outdoor environment is the perfect place to push one’s perceived limitations and connect on a deeper level with the natural world. This is a theme close to our hearts here at Irish Gap Year and regardless of which program you are on, you’ll spend time exploring the great outdoors!
Both Ireland and Europe offer an abundance of spectacular natural landscapes which we make full use of. Students on our more outdoor oriented programs will be surfing, kayaking, climbing, hiking, paddle-boarding, camping and sailing in some of the world’s most stunning environments under the careful instruction of our fully qualified team.
Students don’t need prior experience in any of the activities, nor a super level of fitness. Instead, the goal is for each participant to progress from their own starting point to new personal bests throughout the program.
Equally, students will work as a team helping and guiding each other throughout the activities.
Our goal for students is that time spent exploring and adventuring in nature cultivates a deeper love, respect and connection to the natural world, offering our students lasting memories and many laughs.
